Synchronizing Executable UML

I stumbled across this knol (knol: A unit of knowledge) while looking for information about executable models. The author does a nice job of explaining techniques for representing time and synchronization in Executable UML. Many of the points are particularly pertinent when considering multi-core systems.
The piece is interesting, informative and well written. I especially appreciated Mr. Starr‘s use of clear and concise terminology. His writing is a refreshing change of pace from some of the jargon and arcane verbiage that I encounter from many of our compatriots in the modeling and simulation world. I was impressed enough with this article that I intend to get a copy of his book the next time that I order from Amazon.
